Another Jarman question (General)

by Tony Short @, UK, Sunday, July 29, 2012, 18:17 (301 days ago)

I have a rolling block in 10.15 and have 20 new Bertram cases.
What I dont have is a shell holder to fit.
Buffalo arms only list ch4d number 348 which I think wont be correct for the Bertram brass.
I have 348 brass and I use a 45-70 shell holder and the Betram brass definately wont fit.
What are you chaps using?
Thanks,
Tony

I use a die set from CH4D and the shell holder that came with the set (#348) fits the Bertram Jarmann brass.

OK Thanks for that.
I will probably get the ch4d die set in that case.

please remember when you the first time fire the bertram cases the schoulders will be blown onwards approx 2mm,keep them like that , dont fulllenght size them , dont work the brass to much with your dies ,I had some cases split near the shoulder after one reloading !!!!! I reload my jarmann brass with "gras or werndl dies" and leave the shoulders as fireformed "only neck size" ,I use HN/hs .416 rigby bullets or a PP .400 hb bullets
fireformed cases are not interchangable on the jarmann 2band or 3 band they dont fit
shellholder is RCBS 22 for the bertram and no5 for the reformed .348 cases
greetings from flanders
