Rattan cleaning rod
Replica of the original kammerlader rattan cleaning rod for long and short 18 lødig and 4 linjer rifles
It's not known exactly what the original rattan cleaning rod looked like, but it is described both with and without brass fittings. The rods were flexible and rolled up and stored under the lid of the backpack. The soldiers were not supposed to use the cleaning rod if there were alternatives readily available, such as wooden sticks, because the rattan rod broke easily. The replica is delivered without fittings but is enforced with waxed linen thread in the end as described in a source from 1850. There is no guarantee if the rod breaks!
