The French flint are made by the experienced flintknapper Jean Dutrieux. French flint is light in color, as opposed to English flint which is black. In terms of quality, the English flint is often superior to the French, but due to the lack of raw flint in England, it is currently not easily available. French flint is more brittle than English, and you may risk getting fewer shots out of a flint compared to an English one.
