Conical Ball for the Kammerlader Rifle
The Norwegian Army ordered a commission to determine the shape of the kammerlader's conical bullet. The kammerlader rifles had used roundballs from the adoption in 1842, but now shooting tests revealed that the conical ball was the preferred projectile.
The commission tested several different foreign designs, including Minié balls, but ended up with a Tamisier projectile that was adapted to the kammerlader.
The same bullet was also adopted for the Norwegian pillar-breech rifles
